20 Common Plants To Grow For Making Incense Sticks

Here at RMJET designs we are currently growing Sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata). Our goal is to grow, harvest, braid, dry, and create smudge sticks with this beautiful plant.

Many are familiar with the use of Sweetgrass in smudge sticks and incense sticks, but there are other plants and herbs which can be used.

In my own research, I've learned there are many plants used to create these. So, based on my research, I put together this list of 20 plants used in creating smudge sticks or fragrance sticks.

Keep in mind that Smudge Sticks are used in ceremonial practices, but you don't need to participate in this practice! Why not fill your home with the fragrance these emit. They smell wonderful!

Now, onto the list of common plants used in creating smudge sticks...

1. Pine needles
2. Sweetgrass
3. Mugwort
4. Juniper
5. Rosemary
